The Barolo Cicala 2019 from Aldo Conterno is an iconic and classic vintage from the Bussia. It strikes a perfect balance between acidity and power, with elegant fruit expression and impressive complexity. This wine requires time to fully develop and will benefit from at least 10 years of aging. You have to note that this is the most complex Barolo in Conterno's portfolio. A must-have for any Barolo collector.

The Poderi Aldo Conterno 2019 Barolo Bussia Cicala offers a ripe fruit profile with layers of menthol and medicinal herb. The finish is beautiful, long and chalky, and you don't get as much alcohol in the Cicala (compared to Romirasco). The fruit is dried and streamlined, and this wine does show good promise for aging. The tannins are beautiful, coating your teeth and palate with no bitter edge. About 6,000 bottles were made.
