About the wine

Giacosa's journey is intertwined with a unique grape variety known as Arneis. Back in the 1970s, when Piedmont was abuzz with enthusiasm for red wines, Arneis was almost forgotten and not well-known anymore. However, it was Alfredo Currado from Vietti and Giacosa who breathed new life into it. Together, they championed its cause, reviving its significance, particularly in Roero, where the local conditions perfectly complement its growth.

In Giacosa's vineyards, Arneis holds a special place. For over two decades, the same dedicated growers have nurtured these vines, ensuring their quality and consistency. Since its start in 1974, Arneis has been a cornerstone of Giacosa's production, accounting for around 50% of the total bottles produced.

The 2022 vintage of Giacosa's Arneis is an amazing showpiece of what Arneis is all about, as acclaimed by Robert Parker; No one does a better job than Bruno Giacosa. This is a testament to its excellence. It offers a delightful balance of fruitiness, texture, and acidity. Despite its apparent translucence, it boasts a depth of flavor that captivates the senses. With each sip, one can discern the vibrant notes of citrus and pear, intertwined with subtle hints of herbs and spices.

This wine not only showcases Giacosa's winemaking prowess but also embodies his commitment to quality and innovation. It serves as a reminder of his enduring legacy, which transcends even the realm of his renowned red wines. Giacosa's Arneis stands as a testament to his vision and dedication, ensuring that its significance endures for generations to come.
