Exploring the Elegance and Beauty of Barolo
On Saturday June 15th, I will be hosting a Barolo tasting in the cellar of Nan Wijnen, together with co-owner Teun. Nan Wijnen is a renowned wine shop in Amsterdam. In mid-April, I embarked on a week-long journey through the Barolo region, visiting various wineries to deepen my understanding of the differences between different Barolo crus, the impact of microclimates in the area, and why each winery has its unique approach to crafting Barolo wines. I am excited to share this knowledge with my fellow wine enthusiasts in an informative yet informal setting.

You will discover how the same grape variety can produce such diverse results within a region smaller than the island of Texel. Get ready to sip, savor, and uncover the magic of Barolo!
The tasting takes place in the cozy and atmospheric cellar of Nan Wijnen, with space for up to 11 people. The capacity is limited, ensuring the quality of the tasting and avoiding a chaotic setting. See the location of Nan Wijnen at the bottom of the page.
Details
The tasting is priced at €79.95 per person, including 7 wines, and a spread of fresh Italian snacks, featuring delicacies such as prosciutto, burrata and gorgonzola. Each wine will be accompanied by a selection of delectable treats carefully chosen to complement its flavor profile.
The tasting starts at 18:00 and will last approximately 2 hours. It is expected to finish between 20:00-20:15. Please arrive at least fifteen minutes prior to start time. Arriving between 17:45-18:00 would be ideal, also for the benefit of the group to start promptly.
