Delightful notes of dark fruit and a hint of tobacco grace the nose, alongside a refreshing quality and a beautifully rounded character. While slightly youthful, with an additional two years of aging, it promises to reach its peak. Nevertheless, its current state offers a delightful taste experience to savor.

A Nebbiolo that is both clear and precise, boasting a bouquet of ripe cherries accompanied by subtle hints of tobacco. Its palate is polished, expansive, and adorned with silky tannins, offering straightforward and long-lasting enjoyment with its juicy fruit flavors. This wine delivers pure sophistication and an indulgent drinking experience!
About the wine
Elio Altare, a prominent member of the "Barolo Boys," revolutionized winemaking in Barolo by introducing modern techniques, such as shorter fermentation times and aging in French oak barrels. His goal was to create Barolo wines with the elegance and longevity of Burgundy wines, which he successfully achieved. Originally from Dogliani, the Altare family established themselves in La Morra in 1948, expanding their vineyards over the years to include prestigious locations like Arborina, Canubi, and Cerretta Vigna Bricco. They cultivate 12 hectares of premium land organically and sustainably.
Arborina is their flagship vineyard, producing the esteemed "Uno per Uno" Barolo. Beyond Barolo, their Dolcetto, Barbera, and Nebbiolo wines also garner international acclaim, notably Barbera Larigi and Nebbiolo Giarborina. Altare, along with his winemaking peers, actively supports charitable causes through their "L'Insieme" wine series, reflecting their commitment to giving back to the community.
This wine is crafted entirely from Nebbiolo grapes sourced from the Langhe region. After spending five months in used French oak barrels, followed by an additional six months of aging in the bottle, it emerges as a pristine representation of Nebbiolo from the Langhe. Characterized by exceptionally refined tannins and intricate complexity inherent to the Nebbiolo grape. Elio Altare's Langhe Nebbiolo occupies a significant portion of the winery's production, averaging around 15,000 bottles annually.
